Now that you are called of God into ministry and you know it, there’s something else you ought to know.
Beware of bearing titles to your name which you’re not yet commissioned of the Lord to carry. Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, etc are all titles that sounds good to the ear, and are deeply coveted. But, mind you, are not meant for decoration.
The day you’re called is not always same as the day you’re commissioned to walk in that office. Moses was called a prophet from birth and knew about it as a young man, but wasn’t commissioned to walk in the office until he turned 80.
For every dimension of a call is a process that must be passed before one attains commissioning. You can’t walk in an office where you’ve dodged the making process.
Some of the several errors we’re dealing with in the Church today are happening as a result of the presence of Apostles who were never posted, Prophets who were never proven, Evangelists who themselves needs be evangelized, Pastors who were never pastored, and Teachers whose only Bible depth came from the regular Sunday school.
If the Lord has called you, submit yourself to the process of becoming the one fit to walk in that office. Bearing titles without passing through training can lead to premature termination of one’s ministry, and life. The Moses who was a Prince in Egypt is different from the one who returned to overcome the powers of Egypt.
Submit. Grow. Overcome. Be commissioned.
Grace to you.
